I Want to Glide My Bicycles
Class #1 in the Ultima XS series gravitates towards the bicycle setting on the tower at various heights, giving students the opportunity to explore their own spacial relationship with the equipment. Walking forward and back, and moving the body up and down, this class allows each user to integrate with their setting and ease into a relationship with the equipment where the choice between modifying the mechanical setting, or modifying individual positioning becomes a conversation, not a zero sum goal.
Handle modifications are minimal - moving from bicycle at various heights to a High V setting with handles oriented away from the tower, we explore the integration of the pulley tower straps with traditional upper body configurations from the Pulley Tower and Gyrotoner material, exploring the capacity of the Ultima XS to facilitate the integrated narrowing of the upper and lower body at the same time through traction, feedback and resistance.
A small inflatable “mini-ball” is used during this class. These generic props are similar to a yoga strap, foam roller or cushion in their variable applications for comfort and body positioning. Here is a link for one if you do not already have one available. If this particular version isn’t available for your location, just use something similar. They are not affiliated with any particular modality, and any soft inflatable ball will do just fine.
